    Description

    Development and Communications Associate

    Daniel Pearl Foundation

    Commitment: Approximately 20 hours/week

    Position: Contractor

The Associate is the "engine" for preparing and shaping the Daniel Pearl Foundation’s external presence. This role must simultaneously build the fundraising pipeline (CRM) and tell the Foundation's story across digital platforms. The Associate is essential to sustainable growth.

Primary Focus: Communications Engine, Fundraising Infrastructure, Digital Data Management, and Voice and Brand.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain and refresh the Foundation's digital presence, including a professional website redesign, and manage and build all social media platforms (FB, LinkedIn, IG, YouTube).
    • Develop branding assets (logo, colors, fonts) and a simple brand guide for consistent external messaging, a voice guide for guiding consistency and decorum, and compelling "at-a-glance" storytelling materials.
    • Manage a brand-loaded design program, such as Canva and supporting software from TechSoup.
    • Support the outfitting of the CRM (e.g., Salesforce or Bloomerang) to centralize donor records and contact lists. Find and rebuild the mailing house database.
    • Architect fundraising campaigns, including the immediate execution of year-end appeals and standardized donor "thank you" systems.
    • Implement grant tracking and prospecting using tools such as Instrumentl and DonorSearch to identify institutional funding opportunities.
    • Help sort and digitize all physical files recovered from the office and organize them in the Foundation's shared Google Workspace.
    • Implement and monitor Google Analytics and improve searchability via SEO/AEO/GEO to ensure the revitalized brand is discoverable.
    • Create a short-form Annual Report and "at-a-glance" impact summaries specifically designed for the website.
    • Reconstruct historical lists of international journalist networks found in the office files using AI.
