    Description

    Job Title: Director of Operations

    Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Salary Status:Exempt, Full time

    Position Summary

    The Director of Operations provides operational, financial, and administrative leadership to ensure the efficient functioning of NAMI Greater Los Angeles County (NAMI GLAC), a nonprofit

    organization.

    Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy

    • Collaboratewith the CEO to developand implement organizational strategies and operational and administrative plans
    • Supervise administrative staffand IT Coordinator
    • Monitor organizational processes and recommend improvements
    • Maintain corporate documents, including Board minutes
    • Regularly attend meetingsof the Board and Financeand Audit Committees

    Operations Management

    • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices
    • Ensure smooth coordination between departments
    • Manage employee benefitsand insurance

    Financial & Resource Management

    • Oversee Accounting firmmanagement of budgetsand expenditures
    • Monitor operational costsand identify opportunities for efficiency
    • Oversee tax preparation
    • Oversee payroll
    • Point of contact betweenAuditors and AuditCommittee

    Human Resources Support

    • Oversee HR functions including onboarding
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws,policies, and organizational guidelines, including updates of handbook.
    • Maintain all employeerecords and files,including employee goals,evaluations and counseling documentation
    • Foster a positiveand inclusive workplace culture including weeklymeetings with employees.

    Compliance & Risk Management

    • Ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws,regulations, and funding requirements
    • Maintain operational policiesconsistent with nonprofit standards and bestpractices
    • Identify risks andimplement mitigation strategies
    • Manage insurance procurement
    • Report and manageinsurance claims

    Technology & Systems

    • Oversee organizational systems, databases, and technology tools
    • Identify and implement improvements to enhanceefficiency
    • Ensure proper datamanagement and confidentiality
    • Maintain data storage and standards

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degreein Business Administration, Finance, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or relatedfield
    • 5–8 years of progressively responsible operations or management experience in a nonprofit setting
    • Experience managing teamsand organizational systems

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong leadership and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Financial management and budgeting experience
    • Fluency with financial management software suchas Sage Intact
    • Human Resourcesexperience
    • Knowledge of nonprofit operations, compliance, andfunding structures
    • Ability to analyze dataand improve processes
    • Proficiencyin Microsoft Officeincluding Excel
    • Knowledge of CRM,data storage software

    Work Environment

    • Primarily remote withoccasional travel for meetings or events
    • May require occasional evening or weekend work

    Compensation

    • Salary range: $85K
    • $95K
