    Description

The National Association for Hispanic Elderly/Asociacion Nacional Pro Personas Mayores (NAFHE/ANPPM) is looking for a Deputy Regional Program Coordinator in New Orleans, Louisiana to assist in implementing and overseeing NAFHE/ANPPM’s Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP). Participants in SCSEP are 55 years and older who are provided, on average, 16 to 20 hours of paid community service in term limited jobs at local host agencies, either non-profit organizations or governmental agencies. In exchange, the host organization provides participants with in-kind on-the-job training. During their participation, the participants are assisted and mentored by NAFHE/ANPPM staff to leverage the experience towards permanent employment.

The Deputy Regional Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the SCSEP Program by working hand in hand with the Regional Coordinator to cultivate relationships with employers, host agencies, and community partners to create meaningful training and employment opportunities. The Deputy Regional Coordinator ensures that participants are placed in assignments aligned with their Individual Employment Plans (IEPs), provides direct job search assistance, and tracks progress toward unsubsidized employment outcomes.

The Deputy Regional Coordinators are tasked with:

    • Building and maintaining relationships with public, nonprofit, and private-sector employers to secure job placements for SCSEP participants
    • Implementing outreach strategies to expand host agency networks and identify emerging labor market opportunities
    • Representing ANPPM/NAFHE at job fairs, workforce board meetings, and community events
    • Assisting participants in identifying employment goals, developing resumes, improving interviewing skills, and job search strategies
    • Aligning participant skills and career goals with available job opportunities and training assignments
    • Providing follow-up support to participants transitioning to unsubsidized employment
    • Collaborating with Regional Coordinators to ensure host agency assignments match participants’ IEPs and training needs.
    • Ensuring all participant placement and employment data are accurately entered and updated into a web-based database.
    • Tracking outcomes and contributing to monthly and quarterly performance reports.
    • Supporting data validation, monitoring, and corrective action processes as needed
    • Contributing to ANPPM/NAFHE’s modernization efforts by leveraging digital tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, AI tools) for communication, data collecting and tracking, and reporting
    • Sharing best practices across regional offices to strengthen program outcomes
    • Assisting in coordinating job development opportunities, employment services, workforce development, or related field
    • Assisting in tracking and developing knowledge of local labor market trends and employer engagement strategies
    • Working with diverse, low-income, or older adult populations
    • Working within the guidelines and policies of federally funded workforce programs
    • Operating in a Microsoft 365 environment, case management databases, and virtual collaboration tools
    • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or other languages)
