    Description

    The Director of Advancement is a key member of the administrative team responsible for cultivating relationships, expanding philanthropic support, and advancing the mission of Cranaleith. This role provides strategic leadership for fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, grant development, and communications that inspire individuals, foundations, corporations, and community partners to invest in Cranaleith’s mission.

    The Director of Advancement will build meaningful connections with supporters, identify opportunities for growth, and develop sustainable strategies that strengthen Cranaleith’s ability to serve individuals and organizations.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Philanthropic Leadership & Donor Development

    • Develop and implement comprehensive advancement strategies to increase philanthropic support and long-term sustainability.
    • Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
    • Create opportunities for donors to connect with Cranaleith’s mission, programs, and participants.
    • Lead the cultivation and securing of sponsorships from corporate, foundation, and community partners to advance Cranaleith’s programs, events, and mission-driven initiatives.
    • Spearhead annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, engagement opportunities, and special fundraising initiatives.
    • Knowledge of current philanthropic and giving trends, with the ability to analyze and apply donor data insights to inform fundraising strategy and strengthen donor engagement
    • Collaborate across departments to strengthen visibility, partnerships, and community engagement.

    Grant Development & Foundation Relations

    • Assist with the identification, cultivation, writing, and submission of grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
    • Partner with program and administrative staff to gather information, develop compelling proposals, and communicate outcomes.
    • Maintain strong relationships with foundation partners and ensure effective follow-up and reporting.

    Advancement Strategy & Communications

    • Collaborate with staff to share stories of transformation, gratitude, and mission impact.
    • Maintain accurate donor records and utilize data to inform fundraising strategies and decisions.
    • Oversee timely and meaningful donor acknowledgment processes, ensuring gifts are recognized with accuracy, gratitude, and alignment to Cranaleith’s voice and values.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field preferred.
    • 1+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, grant writing, or related advancement work.
    • Demonstrated success cultivating donor relationships and securing philanthropic support.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tell compelling stories.
    • Experience managing grants, donor databases, and fundraising initiatives.
    • Ability to work independently, strategically, and collaboratively.
    • An understanding of how charitable gifts are spiritually meaningful expressions of gratitude, connection, and support for mission-driven work at Cranaleith.

    Job Type: Full-time, flexible schedule with some hybrid work possible.
