Description
Role and objectives:
- Assist the founders (President, Vice President) with building a new dedicated social media unit for ADI worldwide activities (offices linking US, Latin America, UK, Europe and ADI Wildlife Sanctuary, South Africa).
- Create written, graphic, video content, using ADI visual resources, to support our campaigns, in the media, social channels, website pages, blogs and elsewhere.
- Management of ADI social media presence worldwide.
- Copywriting, editing, curating images, production of videos and clips, for campaigns, posts, websites and news media.
- Editing written and graphic content from contributors, curating for ADI voice and style and cohesive messaging.
- Oversee content calendars, manage contributors, schedules, monitoring, responses, calendar support.
- Uploading to websites, other channels and platforms.
- Participate in arrangements, quotes, etc., for building new website.
- Works with founders on short and long term content strategy and planning, including rapid-response plan for breaking news. Building engagement, growth, marketing, brand awareness, development of websites and other online presence.
Who should apply:
- You have excellent copywriting, editing and verbal communication skills, you understand copyright requirements.
- You have at least 3 years’ experience in content creation and social media work, (copywriting, editing, curating photos, some video production).
- A storyteller, you are skilled with graphics and video; proven success (please provide links)
- You understand the importance of strategic planning, social media dynamics, audience behavior, trends, and understanding the different social media platforms.
- You understand SEO and web traffic metrics, and you are proficient with social media marketing tools.
- You understand the analytics; you can measure the results of social media campaigns, convey results to others; summarize and provide opinions for founders and board members.
- You have experience in animal rights campaigns and advocacy, either professional or voluntary (provide links).
- You are ready to lead and support a new dedicated social media team, working across continents and time zones to change the world for animals.
Skills required:
- Educated to degree level in relevant field(s); marketing, communications, graphic design, video editing; proven writing and content creation skills (links as above)
- Committed animal rights advocate, you understand the importance of consistent and coherent public messaging; you can demonstrate a grasp of ADI campaigns, general animal rights, wildlife and environmental protection issues.
- Excellent knowledge of MS, Canva and/or other graphics programs, digital, online research services (NB: ChatGPT writing is not permitted in place of your own work).
- You are organized, creative, resourceful; a planner, you can deliver objectives, with good leadership skills.
- You understand and can manage the daily schedule for the 24/7 media and social media environment, staff rotas, weekends and time off.
- You are reliable, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A plant-based lifestyle preferred.
