    About Vote to Survive

    Vote to Survive, Inc. (V2S) is a 527 nonprofit focused exclusively in 2026 on promoting vote swapping for the midterm election on Nov 3. V2S vote swapping means encouraging third party supporters, Independents and non-voters in purple states (like OH) or districts (like OH-9 and OH-13) to vote Democrat in exchange for a Democratic voter in a red or blue state (like MA) or district (like MA-2) agreeing to vote for a third party or Independent candidate on their behalf. Vote swapping is legal so long as no money or anything else of value is exchanged.

    Role Description

    Vote to Survive is seeking a talented, driven individual for the role of Northern Ohio Field Organizer for immediate start. They will be responsible for building, managing, and leading teams of volunteers in 3 urban areas of northern Ohio for canvassing, letter-writing, campaigning and event organizing in support of vote swapping.

    The Northern Ohio Field Organizer will report directly to the Board of Vote to Survive. This role is in person and the applicant must be based in northern Ohio. They will be required to travel throughout northern Ohio for the duration of the project. This is a fixed commitment up to November 3, 2026, with flexible hours.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with national leadership to develop and implement an effective vote swapping campaign in 3 urban areas of northern Ohio.
    • Recruit and supervise teams of local volunteers to undertake door-to-door canvassing, letter-writing, phone banking and events organizing
    • Execute successful and meaningful engagement with the community
    • Manage budget and maintain accurate financial records
    • Maintain absolute security over voter lists

    Experience, Requirements and Skills

    • Prior organizing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship)
    • Management experience preferred
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team of volunteers
    • Ability and willingness to work a demanding schedule, which can reach 70+ hours per week at certain times and can be expected to include evenings and weekends.
    • Must live in northern Ohio and have good connections with local political and community organizations and influencers there.
    • Must possess a cell phone and laptop
    • Must have ready access to personal transportation and will be required to provide proof of driver’s insurance
    • Must be able to manage voter lists and spreadsheets

    Compensation and Benefits

    Total gross pay is $4,500 for a 12-week contract, paid in monthly installments with no benefits.

    Field Organizers are considered Temporary Part-Time Employees, meaning they are expected to work as needed to achieve the agreed objectives.

    Any job-related travel, lodging, and other project-related expenses are paid for out of an agreed project budget in addition to salary. All funds must be properly accounted for.
