    Description

    The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation is seeking a Program Associate at the Mandel Institute for Nonprofit Leadership in Brookline, Massachusetts. The Program Associate is a pivotal role that provides comprehensive support for the Institute’s Executive and Educational Leadership Programs. Interest in Jewish communal work—specifically in the areas of education, nonprofit and social leadership, and Israel studies—as well as a desire to support a mission-driven organization, will be assets in this role.

    The Mandel Institute for Nonprofit Leadership’s mission is to strengthen the capacities of talented professionals who lead—or have the potential to lead—important nonprofit institutions and social initiatives. The Mandel Institute’s programs prepare professionals for leadership roles in the fields of Jewish education, culture and communal service.

    Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Program Support: Executive and Mid-Career Educational Leadership Programs

    • Supports planning of and delivers smooth, high-quality seminars by managing end-to-end logistics with a strong service-oriented approach
    • Provides scheduling and administrative support for virtual learning sessions and meetings with faculty, fellows, advisors, and external partners.
    • Manages communication with fellows, including organizing and distributing program schedules, readings, session recordings, and other program-related content, via the CRM and other platforms.
    • Coordinates evaluation activities, including fielding surveys, analyzing data, and produces reports.
    • Develops positive relationships with fellows, faculty, advisors, and external partners to support community building, cohort cohesion, and Mandel’s reputation for excellence.
    • Supports logistical planning for Israel study tours, working collaboratively with the Institute’s tour company on logistics, and local speakers and educational partners to ensure smooth delivery of program content.

    Recruitment and Admissions: Executive and Mid-Career Educational Leadership Programs

    • Coordinates all aspects of the recruitment process including field engagement, communications, and interaction with prospective candidates.
    • Coordinates all aspects of the admissions process including application review, candidate interviews, selection, and onboarding of new cohorts.

    Cross-Organization Support

    • Provides additional logistical support, as needed, to program staff of the Cultural and Early-Career Educators programs during peak periods.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree with high academic achievement.
    • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Keen attention to detail in all aspects of professional work.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • A team- and service-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues, program participants, and organizational stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a demonstrated ability to adapt to new business and educational software platforms.
    • Strong preference for candidates with prior experience with event coordination, logistics management, and community engagement.
    • Knowledge of or experience working in Jewish nonprofit, educational and cultural fields served by Mandel programs is desirable.
    • Proficiency in Hebrew and familiarity with Israeli society will be considered assets.

    Position Details:

    The Program Associate will report to the Director of the Executive Leadership Program and work collaboratively with other members of the Mandel Institute's professional team. They will interact with Mandel Institute fellows, graduates, faculty members, advisors, outside vendors, and the broader Mandel Institute community.

    This is a full-time, in-person position with the option to work remotely Mondays and Fridays. Annual salary is competitive, within a range of $55,000 - $65,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The position includes employee benefits, which are outlined below. Qualified applicants must live within a reasonable commute of the Mandel Institute office in Brookline, Massachusetts.
