    About Us

The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing optimal and equitable care for people with high-risk pregnancies. Through education, research, advocacy, and collaboration, SMFM supports maternal-fetal medicine specialists and works to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes nationwide.

The Reproductive Health team leads SMFM’s efforts to protect and expand access to abortion and other evidence-based reproductive health care, working closely with volunteer leaders, internal partners, and external stakeholders.

    About the Role

SMFM is seeking a Senior Coordinator to support the work of the Reproductive Health Committee. This role plays a critical coordination and execution function, managing committee operations, meetings, project tracking, and drafting content related to reproductive health initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, an excellent written communicator, and brings sound judgment and initiative. This position works independently on day-to-day responsibilities while collaborating closely with the Lead Strategist, Reproductive Health & Access, committee leadership, and internal SMFM teams, ensuring appropriate review and approval processes are followed. This position is contingent upon grant-funding.

    What You’ll Do

    • Draft professional, routine correspondence to committee members regarding meeting scheduling, logistics, deadlines, and follow-ups
    • Maintain and organize committee and project files
    • Create systems to track committee initiatives, milestones, deadlines, and action items; follow up as needed to support progress
    • Manage committee member selection and rotation process, including meeting scheduling, routine correspondence, roster maintenance, author disclosure forms, liaison appointments process, and updating orientation materials
    • Coordinate with committee leadership to identify and track SMFM liaisons to external appointments

    Meeting Management & Logistics

    • Coordinate committee meetings by:
    • Scheduling meetings using tools such as Doodle or similar platforms
    • Preparing draft agendas and slide decks for review based on input from committee leadership and existing templates
    • Managing virtual meeting logistics, including screen sharing, admitting participants, monitoring chat, and providing real-time support
    • Take detailed meeting notes and prepare draft meeting minutes for review

    Content & Communications Support

    • Draft content for review related to reproductive health initiatives and committee work, for SMFM’s internal and external communications
    • Maintain and update SMFM’s Reproductive Health Resources webpages and other program-related pages
    • Support development of committee toolkits and other resource materials
    • Work with committee members to identify topics for webinars, blog posts, and podcasts and coordinate completion of those products in collaboration with Education, Marketing, and Communications staff

    Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows, templates, and processes
    • Serve as a liaison between the Reproductive Health Committee and internal SMFM teams
    • Coordinate with Publications team on approval, ongoing review, and maintenance of committee documents
    • Monitor partner organization communications and events for content and action relevant to SMFM activities
    • Attend meetings, briefings, and other events and provide written summaries
    • Support grant reporting, budget preparation, and program evaluation activities
    • Provide additional project and administrative support as needed to advance departmental goals
