    Description

Build Community Power. Develop Leaders. Win Change.

Comunidad is a youth-led Latino organizing organization building power in rural and working-class communities across Washington.

We believe the people most impacted by injustice should be leading the work to change it. We organize people—not programs—by identifying leaders, developing their skills, and helping communities take collective action to improve their lives.

This is not a traditional direct-service role. While services matter, our work focuses on leadership development, community organizing, and shifting power.

    What We Organize Around

    • Youth Leadership Development
    • Economic Justice & Good Union Jobs
    • Democracy & Civic Engagement
    • Health & Environmental Justice
    • Rural Community Development

You do not need expertise in these issues. We are looking for people who are excited to learn alongside communities and help turn ideas into action.

    What Organizers Do

    • Build relationships through one-on-one conversations
    • Develop community leaders
    • Facilitate trainings and meetings
    • Support community-led research and strategy
    • Build campaigns and collective action
    • Participate in coaching, reflection, and learning

Organizers spend time in communities, at events, in meetings, on the phone, and working alongside residents to make change happen.

    Who Thrives Here?

We are looking for people who demonstrate:

    • A drive to act
    • Curiosity
    • Empathy and relationship-building skills
    • Critical thinking
    • Perseverance
    • Integrity
    • A sense of humor
    • Belief in youth leadership
    • Belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things

Some of our strongest leaders have been overlooked, underestimated, or denied opportunities because they lack formal education, credentials, or access. Great organizers recognize the talent, wisdom, and leadership that already exist in communities.

    Why Comunidad?

    Big Impact

We have spent thousands of hours organizing alongside communities to improve jobs, environmental policies, youth leadership opportunities, civic participation, education, and economic justice.

    Great People

We work hard, challenge each other, laugh often, and build lasting relationships.

    Room to Grow

Whether you're just starting out or already experienced, we invest heavily in coaching, mentorship, and leadership development.

    Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: We are building a team of organizers at all stages of their journey, from trainees developing foundational skills to experienced organizers leading complex campaigns. Compensation ranges from $45,760 to $104,000 annually ($22–$50 per hour), depending on role and experience.
