Description
Women & Children Guest Services Manager
The Christian Aid Center is seeking a compassionate, capable, and mission-driven leader to serve as our Women & Children Guest Services Manager. This position provides leadership and oversight for guest services at our Center for Women and Children, helping create a safe, welcoming, structured, and trauma-informed environment for women and families experiencing homelessness.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build strong relationships, lead a team, navigate challenging situations with confidence and compassion, and help guests take meaningful steps toward greater stability and independence.
About the Role
The Women & Children Guest Services Manager oversees the day-to-day delivery of guest services and helps ensure that each person who enters our shelter is treated with dignity, respect, fairness, and compassion. The Manager works closely with staff, organizational leadership, and community partners to support guests while maintaining the structure, expectations, and healthy boundaries necessary for a safe and effective shelter environment.
This position requires someone who is equally comfortable supporting a guest through a difficult moment, coaching and supervising staff, addressing conflict, coordinating services, and helping ensure the facility operates effectively each day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for daily guest services at the Center for Women and Children.
Supervise, support, and develop guest services staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, and consistent practices.
Help create a safe, welcoming, trauma-informed environment for women and children experiencing homelessness.
Build respectful, professional relationships with guests while maintaining appropriate boundaries and clear expectations.
Respond calmly and effectively to conflict, behavioral concerns, crises, and other challenging situations.
Support guests in identifying goals, overcoming barriers, accessing community resources, and taking steps toward greater stability.
Ensure policies and expectations are applied consistently, fairly, and with compassion.
Coordinate with community organizations and service providers to help connect guests with appropriate resources.
Maintain accurate documentation and support effective communication among staff and organizational leadership.
Participate as a member of the Christian Aid Center leadership team and contribute to the continued development of services for women and children.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a strong relational leader who combines compassion with accountability. You do not need to have all the answers, but you should be willing to learn, able to remain steady in difficult situations, and committed to treating every person with dignity and respect.
Preferred qualifications include:
Two or more years of relevant experience in human services, social services, shelter services, behavioral health, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
Experience supervising, leading, or developing staff.
Knowledge of—or a willingness to learn about—the challenges associated with homelessness, trauma, mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and family instability.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to de-escalate conflict, maintain composure under pressure, and respond thoughtfully to complex situations.
Ability to establish healthy professional boundaries while building trust and rapport.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A commitment to creating an environment that recognizes the value and potential of every person and promotes meaningful, transformational growth.
A four-year degree in social work, human services, psychology, nonprofit management, or a related field is valued; however, we also recognize that meaningful professional and lived experience can provide equally valuable preparation for this work.
