    Description

DC Peers is a small nonprofit dedicated to creating more inclusive, neurodiverse social opportunities in the community. We're looking for part-time facilitators to help us expand our activities and programs for teens and adults. We're doing something unique in this area, and demand is up this Fall.

Working with us is a great fit for people who are professionally and/or personally invested in helping us build a safe, fun community and "third place" for our autistic and neurodivergent peers.

    Who we're looking for

We're interested in people who have significant personal or professional experience with neurodivergent teens (especially middle schoolers) and are creative, resourceful, patient, quick-thinking, able to plan and run activities for teen social meetups, and available on Saturdays and/or Sundays.

An ideal candidate would also be able to do one or more of the following:

    • Run an RPG group, a Magic: The Gathering group, a video games group, or another group you think our folks would enjoy
    • Teach something tech-, engineering-, or science-oriented to middle or high school kids
    • Lead arts & crafts projects with a range of teens — you know how to plan, set up, run, and keep kids engaged
    • Help us set up a store to sell things created and/or donated by our participants

    A practical need

We're also looking for someone who lives near Tenleytown DC and can be a substitute facilitator on short notice.
