What You’ll Do

As Central Virginia Field Organizer, you will:

• Build deep, authentic relationships with community members, grasstops advocates, coalition partners, and local leaders
• Connect Virginia LCV supporters directly with elected officials through organizing, events, and advocacy opportunities
• Plan and execute impactful in-person and virtual events—including town halls, rallies, roundtables, and community gatherings
• Partner closely with environmental justice leaders, grassroots groups, and progressive allies to align strategy and amplify impact
• Help grow and activate our supporter base alongside Climate Action Virginia, our grassroots mobilization program
• Serve as a trusted, relationship centered presence for Virginia LCV in Central Virginia
• Jump in where needed. Because movement work is collaborative, dynamic, and responsive

You might be a great fit if you:

• Feel deeply connected to issues like environmental justice, climate action, democracy, or community organizing
• Have experience in organizing, advocacy, campaigns, movement work, or community engagement (paid, unpaid, or lived experience all count)
• Enjoy building relationships across differences and bringing people together around shared goals
• Communicate clearly and authentically in writing and in conversation
• Care about equity, inclusion, and justice, and strive to live those values in your work
• Can juggle multiple priorities and adapt in a fast moving, mission-driven environment
• Are open to learning new tools, systems, and approaches (CRM or digital organizing experience is a plus, not a requirement)
• Experience helping plan or organize events—such as meetings, forums, rallies, press conferences, actions, or community gatherings—is a plus

• Full-time, generally Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings/weekends
• Hybrid work environment; Richmond Metro area preferred
• Reliable transportation needed for regional travel
• Salary range: $45,000–$52,000, depending on experience
