    Description

    The Communications and Development Associate is a key member of Brookview House's Development Team, helping tell the story of our work to end family homelessness. This role manages all aspects of external communications including social media, digital campaigns, newsletters, and events and supports donor relations and corporate outreach. The ideal candidate brings both creativity and organizational skill and is motivated by meaningful work that makes a real difference in the lives of women and children.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary responsibilities and duties currently assigned to the employee.

    • Support the Director of Advancement in providing strategy, messaging and content for digital campaigns and appeals
    • Prepare newsletters and communications materials for outreach as well as donor events, meetings and site visits
    • Social media management
    • Website content updates/maintenance
    • Photography/media asset management at events
    • Conduct research for proposals and marketing activities
    • Produce donor impact reports, grant-related narratives, and communication metrics summaries; conversion from social media to donor; e-marketing engagement, etc.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors
    • Create digital and video content; organize appropriate storage of source materials and use permissions
    • Maintain the CRM and prepare acknowledgements (less than 20% of time)
    • Coordinate and assist with all aspects of events, including planning, volunteer coordination and logistics (20% of time)
    • Manage volunteer and corporate outreach, including in-kind drives (10% of time)
    • Support the implementation and design of annual fund, appeals across direct mail, email, and digital channels
    • Provide support to the Director of Advancement and the Development Committee
