    Development Associate

    Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is hiring a Development Associate. The ideal candidate should be relationship-driven, detailed oriented, and committed to ensuring supporters are meaningfully engaged, appropriately acknowledged, and consistently valued, informed and connected to the mission and impact of GPB. The Development Associate plays a key role in advancing the organization’s fundraising efforts by strengthening a culture of philanthropy through thoughtful donor stewardship and relationship management. The candidate also must embody emotional intelligence; strategic thinking with a strong execution focus; discretion and professionalism in handling donor information; initiative and adaptability; and commitment to mission-driven work. The Development Associate will report to the Director of Philanthropy. GPB is a statewide dual licensee comprised of 9 PBS television stations and 22 NPR radio stations that broadcast across the state of Georgia.

    Candidate Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized stewardship plans to ensure consistent, meaningful engagement
    • Coordinate timely and thoughtful donor communications, including acknowledgments, impact reports, and personalized outreach and track donor interactions and maintain accurate records in the CRM system
    • Partner with senior development staff to execute stewardship strategies and campaigns for major donors
    • Assist in identifying new major gift prospects for Prospect Researcher.
    • Support cultivation efforts, including planning donor visits, events, and engagement opportunities; and participate in donor visits as appropriate, and assist in solicitation efforts
    • Prepare briefing materials, proposals, and follow-up communications for donor meetings
    • Help manage the major gift pipeline, ensuring timely movement of prospects through each stage
    • Assist with and/or manage donor cultivation and stewardship events, including small gatherings, briefings, and recognition opportunities
    • Coordinate event logistics, invitations, guest lists, and follow-up communications
    • Partner with development and program staff to ensure events align with strategic fundraising goals and deliver meaningful donor experiences
    • Support post-event stewardship to reinforce relationships and advance donor engagement
    • Work closely with program staff to gather impact stories and outcomes for donor communications
    • Collaborate with marketing/communications to align messaging and materials
    • Support development initiatives that enhance donor engagement

    Candidate Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, sales, relationship management, or a related field and/or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, relationship management.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build authentic relationships
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge CRM or similar, and cloud-based development tools preferred
    • Demonstrated interest in nonprofit development and philanthropy
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
