Role Overview:
The Specialist – Numeracy will play a critical role in strengthening the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with a specific focus on the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission. This role involves collaborating with state and district educational authorities to design, execute, and monitor numeracy pilot projects and activities across the district and state levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Coordination & Development:
- Oversee field implementation projects focused on numeracy academic areas.
- Lead the design and development of FLN numeracy Teaching and Learning Materials (TLM).
- Develop professional development plans, workshop designs, and facilitation modules for teachers, block resource teams, and district leadership.
- Design assessment, classroom observation, and monitoring tools.
- Create strategies for capacity building of Cluster Academic Coordinators (CACs) to provide effective onsite teacher support.
- Facilitate FLN sessions in professional development workshops for various stakeholders, including teachers and headmasters.
Planning, Review & Monitoring:
- Develop and review detailed activity plans for demonstration projects.
- Conduct weekly and monthly progress reviews with district managers and coordinators.
- Document program progress and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the State Manager.
- Ensure at least 7 school observation visits per month (non-negotiable) and maintain detailed monitoring records.
Data Management & Evaluation:
- Manage and analyze data from informal, periodic, and third-party assessments.
- Present data findings to stakeholders to inform program improvements.
- Maintain updated master records for schools, teachers, and enrollment data.
Required Qualifications & Experiences
- Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Experience: 4–8 years of experience in the domain of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), with a specific focus on early numeracy.
- Deep conceptual knowledge of numeracy, including curriculum and lesson planning.
- Proven experience in developing teacher guides, workbooks, and writing modules.
- Strong training and facilitation skills.
- Excellent professional writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the internet, and Hindi typing.
