    Description

    Position Summary

    Heart of America seeks a strategic fundraising leader to grow individual giving revenue to $1M+ annually. This role manages a portfolio of major donors, leads annual and mid-level giving programs, and strengthens stewardship to drive long-term donor engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage a portfolio of major donors; cultivate and secure multi-year and major gifts.
    • Lead strategy for individual giving, annual appeals, and donor pipeline development.
    • Develop personalized cultivation and stewardship plans; ensure timely recognition and impact reporting.
    • Oversee donor appreciation events and high-touch stewardship experiences.
    • Partner with Marketing/Communications to create compelling donor appeals.
    • Maintain accurate donor data in Salesforce and provide progress reporting.
    • Support organization-wide giving initiatives and special projects as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of fundraising/individual giving experience.
      • Progressive individual giving experience: At least 4+ years of experience, with demonstrated success securing major and multi-year gifts.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with equity-focused nonprofits.
    • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce NPSP).
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.
    • CFRE certification a plus.
    • Willingness to travel; valid driver’s license.

    Additional Details

    Location (hybrid/remote): Baltimore, MD, or Minneapolis, MN, are priority locations. Other HOA Communities of Impact locations will be considered, including Chicago, IL; Las Vegas, NV; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; San Antonio, TX; Washington, DC metro area/DMV

    Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000

    Reports to: VP of Development
