    Description

    Shakespeare Theatre Company seeks a Graphics and Marketing Associate to join its Marketing and Communications team in support of D.C.’s premier Tony Award winning Shakespeare theatre. This new, integrated position will work closely with STC’s Associate Director of Marketing (ADM) on marketing projects and with STC’s Graphic Designer on design projects. Communication materials to be designed include digital and print materials, social media content, and special projects. The role supports online marketing tasks including the creation and deployment of online ads, executing campaigns designed by the ADM, and supporting advertising and campaigns on social media platforms. The recently announced 26/27 Season includes A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Follies, A Raisin in the Sun, Frida...A Self Portrait, and The Score featuring Brian Cox. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $52,000 - $55,000.

    The ideal candidate should have a portfolio that demonstrates their excellence in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Skill with Canva is nice, but come on, people. The skills needed to excel in this position include good interpersonal skills, the ability to schedule logistics and stay on task, the ability to implement graphic designs created by others, and the skill to initiate designs. There may be opportunities to learn and use video equipment including capturing and editing footage utilizing After Effects or Premiere Pro. There may also be opportunities to utilize Wordfly, Wordpress, Feathr, and other marketing tools. A knowledge of theatre and Shakespeare is preferred, but not essential.
