    LEAD TEACHER

    Pre-Kindergarten Program

    Trinity Preschool Alexandria

    Classification: Part-Time (20 hours/week)

    Supervisor: Head of School

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., late August through mid-June

    Child Protection Policy of Trinity United Methodist Church, Virginia Department of Education

    (VDOE) regulations, and Trinity Preschool policies.

    Position Summary

    The Pre-K Lead Teacher creates a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate

    classroom for four-year-old children. Using Creative Curriculum and play-based learning, the

    teacher fosters children's social, emotional, physical, language, cognitive, and spiritual growth

    while building strong partnerships with families and colleagues.

    Qualifications

     Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred

     Two or more years of preschool teaching experience preferred

     Knowledge of play based learning and developmentally appropriate practice

     Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills

     Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain

    Responsibilities

     Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum.

     Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment.

     Communicate regularly with families through Brightwheel and conferences.

     Submit monthly lesson plans and maintain attendance and student records.

     Collaborate with and supervise the Assistant Teacher.

     Attend staff meetings and school events.

     Complete at least 16 hours of annual professional development.

     Follow all Trinity Preschool policies and VDOE licensing requirements.
