    Description

    About the Sixth Amendment Center

The Sixth Amendment Center (6AC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit nonpartisan organization that works to reform public defense systems and expand access to justice nationwide. We partner with government leaders to strengthen services and ensure the constitutional right to legal counsel is a reality.

Through technical assistance, strategic advising, and research, we help jurisdictions assess where systems are falling short and build stronger, more effective approaches to public defense. Our work sits at the intersection of law, policy, and implementation, with a focus on practical reform that improves how justice works for people who cannot afford counsel.

    Position Summary

6AC seeks a mission-driven, detail-oriented Development Associate to support our growing fundraising efforts and help strengthen the internal systems that sustain them. This is a full-time role with meaningful opportunity for growth inside a small, nimble organization doing nationally significant reform work.

The Development Associate will work closely with the Executive Director to help manage donor and prospect activity, support grant reporting and stewardship, and build the systems and consistent follow-through that make fundraising work.
