    Description

    Position Summary

    The NY Race Track Chaplaincy is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as the

    Belmont Summer Enrichment Program Coordinator. This role involves planning and leading a

    summer program for approximately 20 elementary-aged children from the Backstretch community.

    This program provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children while their parents

    work long hours at the racetrack. The Coordinator will play a key role in creating a positive and

    enriching experience that supports the children’s social, emotional, and recreational development.

    Program Overview

    The program will take place at the Chaplaincy Center at Belmont Park and surrounding outdoor

    areas. Activities will include age-appropriate crafts, games, sports, and supervised outdoor play,

    along with up to two planned off-site outings.

    The Chaplaincy will provide:

    • One adult and one teen assistant
    • Snacks and refreshments for participants
    • Transportation for approved outings

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop a weekly program plan with age-appropriate activities
    • Submit program plans for approval at least one month prior to program start
    • Lead and facilitate daily activities (crafts, games, sports, etc.)
    • Supervise children and ensure a safe, positive, and engaging environment
    • Provide guidance and oversight to assistants and volunteers
    • Coordinate logistics for approved outings
    • Maintain attendance and communicate regularly with Chaplaincy staff
    • Ensure all safety protocols are followed at all times

    Qualifications

    • Experience working with children (camp, school, ministry, or similar setting preferred)
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills
    • Ability to plan and lead structured activities independently
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • Positive, energetic, and responsible demeanor
    • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Proficient in English

    Spanish is a plus but not required
