MacDowell, America’s first multidisciplinary artist residency program, seeks a Salesforce Systems Administrator (SFSA) for a full-time, remote position starting in March 2026. Since its founding in 1907, MacDowell has provided crucial time and space to more than 9,000 artists working across a variety of disciplines. MacDowell Fellowships have supported James Baldwin, Celine Song, Meredith Monk, Isabel Sandoval, Michael Chabon, Bebe Miller, Paula Vogel, Faith Ringgold, and many others in creating their enduring works of the imagination.

In this newly created position, the SFSA will work under the Executive Director and Senior Strategist, Digital Systems to implement and maintain MacDowell’s Salesforce platform and related integrations. MacDowell is currently in the second phase of a multi-year systems modernization project. Over the next year, the SFSA will work alongside external Salesforce consultants and an internal team of cross-departmental “Super Users” to roll out and fine tune Salesforce solutions across the organization and train users to successfully adopt new workflows and applications.

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years of experience in Salesforce administration for a nonprofit organization with more than 20 users, and have the proven ability to build custom applications, workflows, and third-party integrations based on the organization’s needs. We are looking for a highly organized project manager with exceptional quantitative skills and a high level of proficiency in data management, data analysis, and problem solving. A warm customer service orientation and the ability to create and implement clear and effective training materials for users with varying degrees of comfort with technology are must haves for this position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support MacDowell’s transition to and ongoing use of Salesforce in collaboration with existing IT consultants and staff
    • Once external consulting relationships have ended, assume primary responsibility for maintaining and improving the Salesforce platform and maximizing functionality for users
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for user support and troubleshooting
    • Work with staff leadership and department heads to continually align Salesforce tools and workflows with team and organization-wide objectives
    • Accurately document Salesforce workflows; develop training materials for new user onboarding and work with department heads to create department specific process manuals
    • Keep organizational data clean, accurate, and secure
    • Lead ethical and intentional AI integration into digital workflows and tools
    • Stay current on new tools, capabilities, and updates; advise on best practices related to Salesforce and other new technologies

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Extensive knowledge of Salesforce platform, functionality and best practices, including 2+ years of professional experience performing Salesforce administration and support for a nonprofit with 20+ users
    • Experience using Salesforce for nonprofit program and development management
    • Experience with Salesforce Lightning
    • Ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, flows and automations, custom views and integrate 3rd party applications and other content as needed
    • Exceptional quantitative skills with a passion for proficiency in data management, analysis, and problem solving
    • Proven ability to assess organizational needs to optimize Salesforce customizations and facilitate user adoption
    • Track record of successfully managing and completing multi-stage projects with diverse stakeholders
    • Collaborative team player with a warm customer service orientation
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with users that have varying degrees of comfort with new technology
