    • Represent ASLC with local and state agencies, including literacy coalitions and education networks.
    • Increase ASLC’s visibility across Detroit through outreach, presentations, and media engagement.

    Fundraising & Financial Sustainability

    • Cultivate and steward key donors and funders.
    • Ensure timely grant reporting and funder communications.
    • Oversee budgeting, financial controls, and resource allocation in partnership with the board treasurer and finance support.

    Organizational & Program Management

    • Lead, hire, supervise, and develop staff and key volunteers.
    • Build a positive, mission-centered organizational culture grounded in respect, accountability, and inclusion.
    • Ensure high-quality tutoring, volunteer training, and learner services.
    • Oversee administrative operations, contracts, compliance, and risk management.
    • Implement systems to track program outcomes and organizational performance.

    Equity & Inclusion

    • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring, service delivery, partnerships, and organizational culture.
    • Ensure ASLC remains welcoming and accessible to the communities it serves.
