Position Overview: The Data Quality Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of program data while supporting the continuous improvement of Power of Two’s initiatives. This position involves managing internal and external databases, and ensuring compliance with organizational and partner standards. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful programming while developing skills in data management, program evaluation, and quality assurance.
Qualifications: An ideal candidate will have a passion for social impact and share alignment with Power of Two’s mission. They will have strong attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies in data and processes. The candidate will be proficient in Google and Microsoft Suites and have familiarity with case management or data management systems. The candidate will be organized, demonstrate strong time-management skills, and be solution-oriented. Power of Two seeks a candidate with effective written and communication skills, as they will engage with the internal team and external stakeholders, including other organizations and potential family participants. Ideally, this candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Social Services, Human Services, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Location: Reports to the Brooklyn or the Bronx Office.
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in database administration, data management, quality assurance, case management, or program evaluation, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organization. Must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with extreme attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
Database Administration & Quality Assurance:
- Manage the screening tracker for data entry accuracy and completeness and analyze screening outcomes to identify key performance indicators.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve data inconsistencies in the ETO database.
- Assist with data transfers and updates across multiple external data sources.
- Support quality assurance initiatives to align with program standards and organizational goals.
- Provide technical support to staff; guide users on best practices for data entry, and respond to system-related inquiries
- Managing the ETO site structure, setting up and customizing user roles/access levels
Data Governance and Reporting:
- Assist with the development and enforcement of comprehensive data management policies, procedures, and data governance frameworks to ensure data consistency, quality, and compliance.
- Generate, analyze, and visualize data reports and dashboards for upper management to guide strategic initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Data Manager or as needed.
Supervision and Professional Development:
- Prepare for and participate in supervision sessions with the Senior Data Manager
- Engage in reflective practice and continued professional development.
- Attend regular mandatory training sessions and team or organization-wide meetings to stay informed about program goals and strategies.
