    About the Vellore Christian Medical College Foundation:

    The Vellore CMC Foundation’s mission is to support the Christian Medical College & Hospital of Vellore, India (CMC Vellore) in its pursuit of excellence in medical education, research and patient services. Through its fundraising, friend-raising, and programmatic support activities, the Vellore CMC Foundation contributes substantially to (1) compassionate, high-quality care for the underserved, (2) medical, nursing, and allied health student scholarship opportunities, (3) early-stage scientific research conducted by students and junior faculty, (4) int’l fellowship training opportunities for senior faculty, and (5) building collaborative relationships between CMC Vellore and U.S. medical professionals, scientists, students, alumni, and faith-based organizations.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    The responsibilities associated with the Associate Director of Donor Engagement & Philanthropy position are to strengthen donor relationships through the timely delivery of program impact reporting, the design and implementation of a effective social media presence, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the Foundation's website content. Working in collaboration with the Director of Donor Development, President & CEO, and Director of National Gala & Special Events Fundraising, this individual will play an integral role in shaping the Foundation’s print and digial messaging, particularly as it pertains to donor development and charitable gift stewardship achievements.

    The successful candidate will support the Foundation’s efforts to develop, cultivate, and manage its donors; support its volunteer workers; assure adherence to donor appeal and fundraising campaign time schedules; and carefully maintain the organization’s database of donors and prospects. He/she will be a team player with a strong sense of purpose, initiative, commitment and personal responsibility. This position is a hands-on role which requires confidence, flexibility, good time management, confidentiality, and the ability to be persistent and strategic when managing multiple tasks.

    The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, complimented by a true dedication to the Foundation’s mission and be able to properly steward all the organization’s most important charitable donor relationships.

    In his/her position, the Associate Director of Donor Engagement & Philanthropy will:

      • Manage and maintain the organization’s donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date donor information, timely generation of development reports, and strong data-driven donor engagement
      • Manage donor acknowledgment and recognition, including thank-you communications, stewardship updates, and other recognition initiatives that reflect the organization’s values and mission
      • Support the development and management of marketing materials for cohesive communications pertaining to all facets of the organization, including social and print media
      • Research and propose ideas for relevant grant opportunities, donor cultivation events and mission-focused fundraising campaigns
      • Support coordination and implementation of online, direct mail, and one-to-one fundraising efforts
      • Support efforts to secure corporate sponsorship and private foundation grant opportunities
      • Promote the Foundation’s charitable mission through carefully managed donor relations and the efficient use of all available resources.
      • Work closely with Foundation employees, volunteers and board members to successfully plan, implement and staff all donor engagement activities
      • Schedule, coordinate, and participate in external and internal meetings as requested.

    Required Skill Sets and Talents:

    1. Bachelor’s degree w/minimum of two years’ experience, ideally within a nonprofit communications or fundraising environment
    2. Strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with general office equipment
    4. Experience working with a Donor Relationship Management (DRM) system, familiarity with DonorPerfect is a plus
    5. Comfortably interact with a variety of social media platforms
