About MLOV
MLOV was founded in 2010. Our mission is to foster leadership and provide tools for greater civic participation by immigrants in DC who do not speak English as their primary language, through solutions that impact their lives.
Through leadership development, advocacy, and organizing initiatives, we expand the leadership capacity and engagement opportunities of DC immigrants.
We believe that, to create system change, we also need to address immediate community needs and economic well-being. Therefore, we also support individuals’ well-being, skills development, education, and workforce advancement through cohort-based programming and individualized coaching and wraparound support.
Our Community Support Work
MLOV provides wraparound support to improve the well-being of immigrant families in DC. This includes providing community members with basic needs support, resource navigation, free legal consultations, assistance in creating emergency family plans, support for accessing public services (education, housing, and health care, etc.), and more.
