    Description

    Asylum Pride House Case Manager

Asylum Pride House is a Philadelphia Pennsylvania based 501(c)3 organization founded in 2022. Our mission is to support the LGBTQIA+ asylum seeking community with long term housing, initial resources, and case management services. We are looking for an individual who can thrive in a start-up environment and is excited about the work we do in the community serving queer immigrants!

The Case Manager will provide ongoing case management services to LGBTQIA+ asylum seeking individuals in Asylum Pride House’s housing program, to those who may live independently in the Philadelphia area, and occasionally to detained individuals across the country. This full-time position entails supporting recently arrived immigrants as they learn to navigate their new community and prepare to live independently outside of our programs. The Case Manager will also have opportunities to assist with housing placements, coordinate with legal services partners, and grow our network of resources for queer immigrants.

    DUTIES

    • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate client-centered, trauma-informed support
    • Assist in the reception of new clients to Philadelphia or to our housing space
    • Screen and enroll LGBTQIA+ immigrants into our programs
    • In collaboration with the client, create a service plan to address needs, remove barriers, and achieve self-sufficiency
    • Consistently review service plan to update for identified client needs throughout the program period
    • Coordinate with our pro bono legal partners to provide comprehensive legal support to our clients
    • Provide employment services including job readiness training, resume writing assistance, interview preparation, and job placement to program participants
    • Conduct housing hours where you are regularly accessible to residents
    • Provide accompaniment to clients’ appointments
    • Conduct outreach to community members, nonprofit organizations, business owners, employers, and landlords to expand our network of partnerships
    • Work to connect clients with supportive community networks and systems to remove barriers and ensure self-sufficiency and long-term integration
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation in the client's case files to ensure services are clearly documented throughout the client's service period
    • Submit programmatic reports as required
    • Attend stakeholder meetings and work with community partners to learn about resources for newly arriving immigrant populations
    • Ensure that clients are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner within the community and provide education and advocacy when necessary
    • Other duties as assigned
