    Description

    Chief Executive Officer

    Gulf Coast Community Services Association

    Houston, Texas

The Moran Company is pleased to partner with the Gulf Coast Community Services Association to recruit the organization's next Chief Executive Officer.

Since 1965, Gulf Coast Community Services Association (GCCSA) has been dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in the Gulf Coast region. As a leading Community Action Agency, GCCSA is committed to empowering underprivileged communities, ensuring that every individual has the tools to move from poverty to financial empowerment. The agency addresses the root causes of poverty through a comprehensive suite of services designed to foster long-term self-sufficiency, operating in 16 sites across Galveston, Brazoria, and Harris counties.

As one of the largest Community Action Agencies in Southeast Texas, GCCSA is a vital lifeline for individuals and families striving for self-sufficiency. GCCSA provides a comprehensive range of programs focused on breaking the cycle of poverty, including early childhood education, support for low-income and crisis-affected households, holistic family development, and diversified social services that promote long-term financial empowerment. These services span childcare, workforce development, food and housing assistance, disaster relief, and family support from “Cradle to Career.” The organization employs 265 staff members and operates with an annual budget of $36 million.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a visionary, solution-oriented executive to lead GCCSA through its next phase of growth, rebranding, and community impact by setting strategic direction, building a strong organizational culture, strengthening partnerships, diversifying funding, and ensuring operational and fiscal excellence. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of senior leadership experience (preferably in a Community Action Agency or large nonprofit), a relevant bachelor’s degree, strong financial acumen in managing multi-million-dollar budgets, and experience with public and private grants. Success in this role requires the ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors, build collaborative teams, generate new revenue streams, communicate a compelling vision, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations while managing complex organizational challenges. GCCSA offers a salary range of $185,950 - $195,247 and a comprehensive benefits package.
