This position supports development and communications strategies to generate revenue, cultivate donors and build awareness of White Center Food Bank’s work in the community. The Development & Events Coordinator is responsible for donor records, gift acknowledgments, event coordination and community engagement.
The Development & Events Coordinator connects to the mission of the WCFB by sharing the impact of the organization while ensuring positive internal and external communications. This position is non-exempt at 40 average hours/week and supervised by the Development and Communications Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Development - 45%
Primary focus on donor relations, cultivation and stewardship.
- Utilize WCFB’s fundraising software platform to manage donor records, donor recognition, gift processing, sponsors, in-kind donations, planned gifts, and mailing lists.
- Ensure donors are thanked and provided receipts for gifts within the designated timeframe and with the appropriate method of interaction.
- Arrange and/or attend meetings with donors and prospective donors.
- Work with the Development & Communications Director and vendors to develop and implement direct mail solicitations for annual appeals and other communications.
- Manage employee giving programs and matching gifts processes.
- Coordinate with board to engage with donor recognition and fundraiser event planning.
- Coordinate with external organizations, agencies and businesses to organize food drives and fundraisers.
Events - 50%
Manage all logistical aspects of events including venue, food and beverage, entertainment, volunteers, supplies and rental equipment, event signage and décor in coordination with the Development & Communications Director.
- Assist in the creation of sponsorship packets to secure sponsorship for events, in coordination with the Development & Communications Director.
- For each event, prepare a proposed budget, provide periodic progress reports to the appropriate parties and keep track of event finances.
- Compile, input, and analyze data from events for reporting purposes.
- Support marketing and communications efforts for events, including content for social media and newsletters.
- Develop trainings for staff and volunteers to support events.
Other duties – 5%
- Support outreach events and community meetings as a representative of the organization.
- Support operations, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Preference for those that are bilingual or multilingual, especially in one of the following: Vietnamese, Spanish, Khmer/Cambodian, Mandarin, Somali, Arabic, Tigrinya, or Amharic
- 2 to 4 years of related professional-level experience, experience in development and/or event planning preferred
- Previous experience in food access, whether professional or lived
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
- Working at a computer for long periods of time
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pulling / pushing, kneeling, twisting, grasping, and walking.
- Ability to work weekends or evenings, as needed
- Occasional moving, transporting, and positioning of items weighing up to 50 lbs
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Hourly range is $31.00 to $34.00 per hour, depending on experience
