    Description

    Every year, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (Foundation) honors the men and women who died in the line of duty and provides compassionate support to their families. With a national reach that includes honoring nearly 200 firefighters annually.

    The NFFF stands at the heart of the American fire service community. We are a vibrant, team-oriented nonprofit with a remarkable mission and we are looking for a Corporate Relations Officer who shares our commitment to honoring sacrifice and supporting their families and coworkers.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Corporate Relations Officer is a pivotal member of the Foundation’s fundraising team, leading corporate partnership initiatives that drive revenue and strengthen long-term relationships. This is an ideal role for a dynamic professional with a proven track record in building and managing corporate relationships, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships.

    The Officer will manage a substantial portfolio of corporate partners, overseeing relationship-building, prospect research, proposal development, and impact reporting to advance the Foundation’s national fundraising goals. This role requires regular travel to meet with existing and potential corporate partners, cultivate and strengthen new and existing relationships, engage directly with corporate leaders and key contacts, and represent the Foundation across diverse organizations. The focus includes maintaining renewals, securing new major corporate partners, and building new, long-term partnerships that encourage ongoing engagement and support.

    Working closely with the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), the Corporate Relations Officer will collaborate across internal teams to maximize corporate engagement, strengthen philanthropic impact, and support the Foundation’s mission.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Corporate Major Gifts and Strategic Partnerships:

    • Lead corporate fundraising efforts, including setting targets, managing proposals and reports, and cultivating donor and partner relationships.
    • Represent the Foundation at events and in the community, including engagement with national fundraising initiatives and opportunities.
    • Drive the development of new major corporate partnerships through targeted cultivation, while maintaining and expanding an established portfolio of corporate donors.

    Relationship Cultivation and Stewardship

    • Engage funders through meetings, calls, and regular updates strengthening relationships and support long-term engagement.
    • Partner with Marketing to develop donor recognition and engagement opportunities that enhance visibility, stewardship, and impact.
    • Coordinate executive and board involvement with key funders to deepen strategic relationships and alignment.

    Data Integrity & Compliance

    • Track fundraising activity in Raiser’s Edge, including opportunities, amounts, deadlines, and outcomes, to maintain an accurate pipeline.
    • Provide monthly revenue and pipeline updates to leadership and finance to support forecasting and decision-making.
    • Coordinate financial reconciliation with Advancement and Finance to ensure accuracy and alignment.

    Events & Sponsorships

    • Work with the Advancement team on fundraising events, developing strategies to maximize corporate engagement and revenue.
    • Manage corporate sponsorships, securing gifts, fulfilling sponsor benefits, and identifying new national donor opportunities.
    • Coordinate with Marketing on event materials and evaluate outcomes to inform future fundraising strategy.

    Annual Memorial Weekend Event

    • Participate and attend the Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend event in Emmitsburg, MD.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of experience in corporate fundraising, corporate/foundation relations, or strategic partnerships.
    • Proven success in securing and managing institutional gifts of $25,000+.
    • Excellent writing and storytelling skills; demonstrated experience writing proposals and donor reports.
    • Strong relationship management and communication abilities.
    • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to meet with partners and attend events.
    • Proficiency in fundraising CRMs (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience working in a mission-driven organization with a national or issue-focused impact.
    • Familiarity with corporate partnerships, sponsorships, marketing, or corporate social responsibility (CSR) trends.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    • Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience
