Description
Latinas On the Verge of Excellence (L.O.V.E.) Mentoring Program empowers young women to excel academically and personally through positive role modeling, mentorship, and health education.
We are seeking five Seasonal Program Facilitators to support the implementation of our mentoring programs during the 2026–2027 academic year.
Responsibilities
- Plan, facilitate, and support mentoring sessions in NYC public schools and community programs.
- Assist with organizational projects, data collection, and entry.
- Communicate with staff, school liaisons, and community partners.
- Represent L.O.V.E. at meetings, events, and partner gatherings.
- Support volunteer mentors by providing guidance and fostering their professional growth.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development related to youth work.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate students or recent graduates in education, social work, psychology, public health, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to travel across NYC to schools and community centers.
- Strong communication, organizational, project management, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
- Passionate about working with young women from diverse backgrounds.
- Committed to leadership and mentorship development.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Schedule
- Seasonal position: September 2026 – June 30, 2027
- Ideal start date: September 1, 2026
- Approximately 24 hours per week
- Availability to work up to 3 weekdays per week between 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Training begins in September in preparation for program implementation
Compensation and Professional Development
- Compensation: $21 per hour
- Professional Development: Program Facilitators will receive opportunities for professional development, which may include mental health training, mandated reporter certification, DOE fingerprinting, and teaching/facilitation workshops.
