    DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

    We all Really Matter (WARM) is the leading grassroots, minority-led, non-profit provider of comprehensive services for victims of domestic violence in Harlem and the South Bronx. WARM’s mission is to prevent and interrupt the cycle of abuse for women living in disenfranchised communities of color.

    Reporting directly to the CEO/Founder, with wide latitude for independent judgment, the Director of Development will serve as a member of the Executive Management Team. The Director will be the liaison to the development committee of the board of directors and key organization staff as WARM continues its growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Meet revenue goals for existing and new programs, infrastructure, and a reserve fund
    • Personally develop proposals to three levels of government and foundations/ corporations; manage consultants who also develop these proposals and edit their work

    Create, implement, and manage efforts to meet goals for unrestricted funds through: - major donor campaigns, including identifying, soliciting, and closing major donations - mailings, including annual appeals

    • galas and other events
    • proposals to foundation/corporate
    • Review and edit progress reports to funders to ensure compliance with contracts

    Assist in creation and implementation of print, digital, and social media content in support of fundraising

      Prepare and present regular reports to CEO/board on progress towards fundraising goals

      Qualifications/Competencies

      • Passion for and identification with agency mission; motivated to meet development goals

      BA (MA preferred) and five plus years’ experience as a professional fundraiser for sizable non-profit organizations, preferably working in social services

      • Documented success in raising significant unrestricted funds through at least two of following approaches: major donors, mailings, events/galas, foundations/corporations

      Proven record of personally writing funded government proposals of $500,000 plus; and proposals for unrestricted funds to foundations/corporations

        Strong development leadership, project management, and budgeting skills Salary: $125,000
