Springfield Family Center, Inc. is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and visionary Executive Director to lead one of the region's most important charitable organizations.
For more than 50 years, Springfield Family Center has worked alongside community partners to combat food insecurity and provide essential resources to individuals and families throughout the greater Springfield area. Through food distribution, community meals, outreach programs, advocacy, and partnerships, we help ensure that our neighbors have access to nutritious food and supportive services.
We are looking for a dynamic leader who is passionate about community impact and ready to guide our organization into its next chapter of growth and sustainability.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of Springfield Family Center and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, fundraising, financial management, community relations, and daily operations of the organization.
The Executive Director will work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, community partners, and local leaders to advance our mission and strengthen our impact throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership and vision to advance the mission and goals of Springfield Family Center.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven organizational culture.
- Lead organizational planning and continuous improvement efforts.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organization.
Fundraising & Resource Development
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support organizational sustainability.
- Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
- Oversee grant writing, grant management, and reporting requirements.
- Identify new funding opportunities and revenue streams.
Financial & Operational Management
- Manage organizational budgets and financial resources responsibly.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, grant requirements, and organizational policies.
- Oversee program operations, including food distribution, community meals, outreach efforts, and volunteer engagement.
- Monitor program outcomes and implement improvements when needed.
Staff Leadership
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and support staff members.
- Promote professional development and team collaboration.
- Build and maintain a positive workplace culture.
Board & Community Relations
- Partner closely with the Board of Directors to achieve strategic priorities.
- Provide regular updates regarding organizational performance, finances, and opportunities.
- Strengthen community partnerships and represent Springfield Family Center at public events and meetings.
- Advocate for food security and community well-being throughout the region.
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant development, and donor relations.
- Experience managing budgets and organizational finances.
- Strong supervisory and team leadership experience.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree in a related field or bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, social services, or a related field.
- Experience in nonprofit leadership.
- Knowledge of food insecurity, hunger relief programs, and community services.
- Experience working with boards of directors and volunteers.
