When someone hears the words, "you have cancer," the world can feel very small. At Gilda's Club Wisconsin, we work every day to make that world feel bigger again through connection, support, laughter, and hope. We're looking for a Director of Cancer Support Programs who shares that conviction and wants to lead a team bringing that mission to life across the state.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of free psychosocial cancer support in Wisconsin. You'll lead a dedicated team, build partnerships with healthcare and community organizations, and ensure that every person impacted by cancer (people living with cancer, caregivers, and families) has a place to belong.

    About Gilda's Club Wisconsin

Gilda's Club Wisconsin provides free, community-based psychosocial support to people impacted by cancer. Named after comedian Gilda Radner, who died of ovarian cancer, our organization is built on the belief that community is stronger than cancer. We offer support groups, healthy living activities, educational workshops, and social activities, all at no cost to participants. So that no one faces cancer alone.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead and inspire a team of program staff and facilitators, providing supervision, coaching, and clinical oversight
    • Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of psychosocial cancer support
    • Provide some direct programming
    • Build and strengthen partnerships with hospitals, healthcare systems, and community organizations to expand our reach
    • Identify opportunities for program innovation
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director/CEO on strategic planning, reporting, and organizational growth

    What We're Looking For

We know the right candidate may not check every box — we care most about finding someone whose skills, values, and passion align with the people we serve.

    Required qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
    • Hold valid licensure for professional mental health practice.
    • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience, including clinical supervision

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience with group facilitation and community-based programming
    • Background in oncology, palliative care, grief support, or working with individuals facing serious illness
    • Experience building nonprofit or healthcare community partnerships
    • Program development, training, and evaluation experience

This role involves occasional evening and weekend hours (approximately 2–3 times per month) and periodic travel within Wisconsin, primarily for partnership and outreach activities.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive salary: $80,000–$86,000 annually
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) retirement plan
    • Generous paid time off and paid holidays
    • Hybrid schedule: 1–2 days remote per week
    • Meaningful, mission-driven work with a collaborative, values-driven team
