ABOUT THE NC LATINX COLLABORATIVE (NCLC):

The NC Latinx Collaborative is a funder intermediary that houses a community fund dedicated to supporting Latinx-led and serving grassroots organizations across North Carolina. The NCLC is currently made up of contributing foundations, Latinx-led organizations, and community-based groups representing all three regions of our state, as well as both urban and rural contexts. The work is guided by both a Unifying Council (made up of representatives from 9 Latinx-led organizations) and a Steering Committee (made up of foundation representatives who also provide oversight for the finances and staffing of the collaborative). These two bodies, with the support of a Project Director, have helped develop and implement the NCLC’s priorities.

Mission: We work together to strengthen the capacity, resilience, and power of groups led by Latinx people in North Carolina. We do this through:

    • The redistribution of financial resources through a participatory community fund.
    • The creation of co-conspiracy spaces (capacity building, training, healing spaces).

Vision: We work collectively to build a stronger state where Latino communities and all communities can thrive and feel connected to their own power.

Values: We are pro-Black, pro-Indigenous, pro-Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, and Queer, pro-worker, and pro-migrant because we recognize that our work towards collective liberation includes ALL members of our community. (Language borrowed from Mijente Principles of Unity)
