    Description

    The Vic Falls Wildlife Trust (VFWT) is a leading conservation organization based in Zimbabwe, dedicated to protecting wildlife and ecosystems through science, conservation, and community engagement.

    Our U.S. nonprofit entity, the Victoria Falls Wildlife Foundation (VFWF), has been operating for over 15 years as a registered 501(c)(3). We are expanding our U.S. fundraising efforts and seeking a driven professional to help grow and steward our donor base.

    We are seeking a dynamic, relationship-focused Philanthropic Advisor to lead donor development efforts in the United States.

    This is a part-time, remote role, with preference for candidates based on the East Coast to align with our Africa-based team. The position requires domestic and international travel.

    You will serve as the primary U.S. contact for donors, working closely with our Zimbabwe team to grow revenue, strengthen donor relationships, and expand our philanthropic network.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build and manage relationships with major donors and prospects
    • Grow the U.S. donor base and increase annual fundraising revenue
    • Develop and execute fundraising campaigns and donor outreach strategies
    • Organize and support donor events across the U.S.
    • Maintain regular, personalized communication with donors
    • Track donor activity and manage records in DonorPerfect (CRM)
    • Follow up on lapsed donors, recurring gifts, and payment issues
    • Coordinate with international teams to align messaging and impact reporting
    • Provide monthly fundraising updates and performance metrics to leadership
    • Travel to meet donors and engage with VFWT teams in Zimbabwe

    What We’re Looking For

    • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or philanthropy
    • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
    • Creative and strategic thinker with a proactive approach to fundraising
    • Experience with donor CRM systems (DonorPerfect or similar preferred)
    • Comfortable working across time zones with international teams

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • Experience with major gifts fundraising
    • Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact)

    Additional Requirements

    • U.S.-based (East Coast preferred)
    • Valid U.S. passport and ability to travel internationally
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Level of Language Proficiency

    English required, highly proficient
