    Audio-Visual Coordinator

    Hours: 3-5 hours/week

Sundays during the First Parish church year (the Sunday after Labor Day in September—the second Sunday of June) from 9am-12:00pm; plus additional hours to cover livestreaming or AV support for special services or events, including 2 summer services.

    Pay: $40/hour

    Description

The Audio-Visual Coordinator will manage our congregation’s AV needs for in person and online worship on Sunday mornings, as well as special services (detailed below) and other events as available.

On Sundays, they will arrive at 9:00 am to turn on and set up all parts of our AV/Livestreaming system to ensure they are working properly, then produce the livestream and push it to an established link so that remote participants can join the service.

During the service the coordinator will manage production of the livestream (via Wirecast), selecting camera angles, zooms, managing microphones and audio levels, managing accompanying slides, and captions and confirming that the livestream is functioning.

After the service, they will manage a post-worship Virtual Coffee Hour. In the event of a post-worship presentation (usually twice/month), they will continue to operate the livestream until the presentation is over. Responsibilities on Sunday morning should therefore wrap up between 11:30am to 12:30pm, depending on the week.

The AV Coordinator will also manage our tech needs for special services throughout the year that also need to be livestreamed, such as Christmas Eve (3 services), Good Friday, Easter (2 services), occasional midweek evening services, as well as adult education programs, weddings, and memorial services as available.

The AV Coordinator will troubleshoot AV problems to the best of their ability, and keep a record of issues to share with staff and AV Committee. They will provide technological support and expertise for FPL’s various programs in consultation with the AV Committee and staff. As needs arise, they will also train lay volunteers in the use of our AV systems.

    Core Competencies

Regular communication via email, phone, and text.

Understanding of the dynamics of a congregation, which includes both paid staff leaders (including ministers) and volunteers involved in AV.

Teamwork, patience, and problem-solving in a community environment.

The AV Coordinator will report to the ministerial staff.
