exchange programs connect K-12 youth to inspiring global travelers and speakers through live video calls

and custom content. Each virtual exchange brings real-world adventure, fresh perspectives, and the

chance for students to dream bigger about their own futures.

    Position Overview

The Program Associate is a central member of Reach the World’s program team, helping build and

support the organization’s community of travelers, explorers, and corporate volunteers. This is a nine-

month, full-time contract position that runs each program year from mid-August through mid-May. The

Program Associate supports the Director of the Traveler and Explorer Programs in recruiting a diverse

performing contractors may be invited to return for subsequent program years. Fully remote, with a

strong preference for candidates based in the Chicago area.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • (40%) Traveler Program recruitment, training and matching: Use Salesforce, Asana and Form Assembly to recruit, evaluate, and train a diverse and large matching pool of travelers, explorers, and corporate volunteers who are ready to match with K-12 educators for Reach the World’s virtual exchange programs. • (25%) Marketing, communications and outcomes reporting: Manage marketing nurture and email campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement. Draft, design, edit, and publish polished marketing content for travelers, explorers, corporate volunteers, and other external audiences.
    • Monitor social media channels; schedule and publish content. Support program outcomes measurement and reporting using Form Assembly and Excel.
    • (20%) Explorer Program management: Serve as the primary point of contact for explorers and educators participating in the Explorer Program. Collect and edit media; publish on the ReachtheWorld.org content management system. Coordinate all aspects of Explorer Program live stream events, including planning, registration, and live support during each event. Create on-demand itineraries.
    • (10%) Facilitate Special Programs: Facilitate all aspects of Meet the World visits, speaker events, and other special projects as requested.
    • (5%) Technical Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for Reach the World participants who need tech support with the program. Provide email and phone support as requested.
