    Description

    The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and growing the organization’s individual giving programs. This role focuses on building strong relationships with current and prospective donors through effective cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention strategies. The Individual Giving Manager will work closely with leadership, fundraising, communications, and program teams to increase philanthropic support and advance the organization’s mission.

    Responsibilities

    • Build and execute individual giving strategy, including annual fund and donor campaigns.
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.
    • Manage a donor portfolio and maintain accurate CRM/donor records.
    • Create donor-facing materials, proposals, and stewardship plans.
    • Coordinate with internal teams on events, communications, and fundraising support.
    • Create and implement donor engagement plans tailored to donor interests and giving capacity.
    • Identify new donor prospects through research, data analysis, referrals, and relationship-building.
    • Prepare donor correspondence, appeals, stewardship materials, proposals, and acknowledgments.
    • Track donor activity, gift trends, and pipeline movement
    • Collaborate with communications and marketing staff on fundraising campaigns, donor messaging, and impact storytelling.
    • Coordinate with senior leadership, board members, and volunteers in donor outreach and relationship management.
    • Monitor fundraising goals, evaluate campaign performance, and recommend improvements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate donor stewardship, including acknowledgments, reports, and follow-up.
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all donor and organizational matters.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
    • 2–5 years of experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or nonprofit advancement.
    • Excellent relationship-building, organization, and project management skills.
    • Experience with donor databases or CRM systems.
    • Ability to manage goals, revenue targets, and multi-touch donor outreach.
    • Demonstrated success in individual donor cultivation and fundraising.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with annual giving, major gifts, or donor stewardship programs.
    • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising best practices.
    • Ability to analyze donor data and use insights to guide strategy.
    • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
    • Experience working with board members, volunteers, or senior leaders on fundraising efforts.

    This is a full-time, in-office position based at our Headquarters in New York. Some evening or weekend hours may be required for donor meetings, events, or special fundraising activities.
