South Benton Resource Center (SBRC) is seeking a hands-on, highly organized Community Operations Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of our growing rural community resource center in Monroe, Oregon.

SBRC fosters a thriving, connected community by providing access to food, essential services, and opportunities that support well-being, resilience, and belonging for all residents of South Benton County. Our work includes a food pantry, community programs and events, volunteer initiatives, facility rentals, community partnerships, and a social enterprise café.

The Community Operations Manager works closely with the Executive Director to make sure the Center's programs, café, facilities, staff, volunteers, events, venue rentals, and operational systems run smoothly. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, creating effective systems, and helping a community-centered organization thrive.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Resource Center.
    • Directly supervise the Program Coordinator and café staff, including scheduling, coaching, onboarding, and day-to-day support.
    • Coordinate staffing and operational needs across programs, facilities, events, and activities.
    • Manage day-to-day café operations and support consistent customer service, food safety, cleanliness, inventory, and operational standards.
    • Provide operational oversight of food pantry activities and support the Program Coordinator in managing volunteers and pantry operations.
    • Coordinate volunteers across programs, events, and organizational activities.
    • Coordinate community events, fundraisers, and special activities, including staffing, volunteers, vendors, supplies, setup, and day-of logistics.
    • Manage facility and venue rental inquiries, scheduling, agreements, payments, and renter communication.
    • Coordinate routine facility needs, supplies, vendors, contractors, and service providers.
    • Develop and maintain operational procedures, checklists, schedules, and systems.
    • Identify operational challenges, troubleshoot day-to-day issues, and recommend improvements.

    Qualifications

We're looking for someone with demonstrated experience in operations, staff supervision, program coordination, hospitality, nonprofit or community services, or a related environment. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and project management skills, experience leading staff and/or volunteers, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, exercising good judgment, solving problems, and working in a hands-on environment where priorities may shift based on organizational and community needs.

Experience in a nonprofit, community center, food pantry, café, hospitality, volunteer management, community engagement, events, or facility rentals is especially helpful. Spanish language skills and experience with Bloomerang or similar nonprofit or volunteer management software are preferred but not required.

    Schedule & Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position with an annual salary of $45,000. The position generally works Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work is required to support programs, events, rentals, and other organizational activities.

    Benefits

SBRC offers paid time off and sick time accrued monthly, as well as a 403(b) retirement savings plan with employer matching.

The position is active and hands-on. Candidates must be able to move throughout the facility for extended periods and safely lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
