    Position Summary:

    The Allentown Partnership is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Project Manager to support the planning, construction, and community-centered activation of Franklin Park. The construction project and this position are funded through the Bezos Earth Fund’s Greening America’s Cities Initiative.

    The Project Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as a central liaison across contractors, public, nonprofit, and private partners to ensure successful project implementation, meaningful community engagement, and consistent reporting on outcomes. This is a grant-funded position with a maximum duration of 24 months, aligned with the project timeline and funding requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Community Engagement & Partner Coordination:

    • Regularly attend and report out at partner and community meetings.
    • Facilitate meetings, events, and outreach efforts.
    • Build relationships with residents and organizations.
    • Maintain communication with all stakeholders.

    Project Management:

    • Manage timelines, workplans, and deliverables tied to construction and requirements.
    • Coordinate with all stakeholders.
    • Serve as liaison during park construction.
    • Monitor construction progress and ensure alignment with plans.

    Grant Reporting & Project Documentation:

    • Prepare regular reports on project status for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Track project invoicing, grant requirements, deliverables, timelines, and compliance reporting.
    • Develop materials for funders, partners, and public communication.
    • Maintain organized project documentation, including meeting notes, schedules, and reports.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Support the Executive Director in identifying funding opportunities and preparing project grant proposals. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, environmental studies, public administration, project management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 3–5 years of progressive experience in project coordination or management, ideally in parks, green infrastructure, or community-based projects.
    • Experience working with multi-sector partners (government, nonprofits, contractors, community groups).
    • Familiarity with construction processes, public space development, or landscape projects is strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in community engagement.
    • Commitment to the values of inclusion and belonging for all park users.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder presentations.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across stakeholders.
    • Must be willing to work in a variety of weather conditions and comfortable walking over uneven terrain.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with public parks, open space planning, or green infrastructure projects.
    • Familiarity with construction project management, park and recreation design, and sustainable landscape practices.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

    Work Environment & Term

    This is a full-time, grant-funded position with a maximum 24-month term. The role includes office work, on-site coordination at Franklin Park, and community engagement activities. Periodic evenings and weekends are required. This position requires travel to the project site and partner meetings. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.
