    At Mothers’ Milk Bank California, every role contributes to improving health outcomes for vulnerable infants and supporting families when they need it most. We are seeking a full-time temp -to-hire People, Culture & Compliance Coordinator who is passionate about building an engaged workplace culture while helping ensure our organization operates with excellence, safety, and integrity.

    In this role, you'll support employee engagement, staff development, training coordination, and compliance initiatives that keep our systems organized, audit-ready, and aligned with regulatory standards. You'll work across departments to strengthen communication, foster continuous learning, and help create a workplace where our team can thrive while advancing our lifesaving mission.

    Important Details

      • Salary: $65,000–$68,000 annually, depending on experience
      • Location: San Jose, CA (onsite)
      • Schedule: Full-time, temporary for one year and opportunity for temp to hire after one year; 40 hours per week
      • Occasional evening and weekend availability required
      • Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
      • Valid California driver's license and carry current auto insurance

    Key Responsibilities

    Culture & Staff Engagement

      • Support programs that foster collaboration, engagement, and a mission-driven workplace
      • Coordinate employee recognition, appreciation, and team-building activities
      • Assist with onboarding and orientation to create a welcoming employee experience
      • Support internal communications and staff events
      • Help implement learning and development initiatives that promote growth and success

    Compliance Coordination & SOP Management

      • Coordinate updates and version control for SOPs, policies, and compliance documentation
      • Maintain organized, audit-ready records and document management systems
      • Support updates to the food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs
      • Track training requirements, attendance, certifications, and competency records
      • Assist with audits, corrective actions, and regulatory follow-up activities
      • Help ensure procedures remain current and aligned with FDA, HMBANA, and organizational standards
      • Support quarterly regulatory license and certification tracking
      • Maintain organized electronic filing systems for compliance and quality documentation

    Training & Professional Development

      • Track required compliance and professional development training
      • Manage training calendars and educational opportunities for staff
      • Assist in developing training materials and resources
      • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and learning
      • Supportcross

    Core Competencies

      • Passion for Mothers’ Milk Bank California’s mission and values
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in healthcare administration, nonprofit operations, public health, human resources, organizational development, compliance, or a related field
      • Experience coordinating staff training, professional development, or culture initiatives
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
      • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and digital document management systems
      • Collaborative, detail-oriented, solutions-focused approach, and ability to work collaboratively across departments

    Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience supporting compliance, quality systems, healthcare operations, or food safety programs
      • Familiarity with FDA regulations, SOP management, audits, or accreditation standards
