    Description

    Summary

    Food For All (FFA) DC is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide personalized nutrition counseling for clients managing chronic health conditions. The RD will support clients through nutrition education, behavior change guidance, and wellness coaching while collaborating with FFA staff to deliver culturally responsive and client-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct initial nutrition assessments, including dietary habits, health conditions, food
    • access, and wellness goals.
    • Develop individualized nutrition recommendations for chronic conditions such as
    • diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol.
    • Provide ongoing follow-up consultations via phone or video to monitor progress and
    • support behavior change.
    • Educate clients on healthy eating, meal planning, and sustainable lifestyle practices.
    • Maintain clear documentation of client interactions, recommendations, and progress.
    • Support program evaluation efforts and collaborate with FFA staff on client care and
    • program development.
    • Stay informed of best practices in community nutrition and food insecurity interventions.

    Position Details

    Type: Part-time contract position (10–15 hours/week).

    Schedule: Flexible.

    Duration: Ongoing position, subject to periodic review.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Dietitian credential with current Washington, DC licensure.
    • Experience in nutrition counseling and chronic disease management.
    • Strong understanding of culturally responsive nutrition practices and social determinants
    • of health.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Commitment to compassionate, holistic, and client-centered care.

    Preferred

    • Experience in community-based or nonprofit settings.
    • Familiarity with program evaluation.
    • Bilingual in Spanish.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Preference for candidates who are bilingual in Spanish
