    This is a volunteer position. There is no financial compensation, but we provide training and a meaningful opportunity to serve the incarcerated community in Tanzania.

    About This Role

    We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate volunteer to support our mission of bringing hope and rehabilitation to those within the Tanzania prison system. Whether you are helping with administrative tasks, coordinating outreach, or assisting our chaplains, your work will directly impact lives behind bars.

    What You Will Do

    • Outreach Support: Assist in organizing ministry materials and programs for local facilities.
    • Communications: Help us share stories of transformation via email or social media to keep our supporters engaged.
    • Administrative Tasks: Help maintain our records and coordinate schedules for our team of chaplains.
    • Prayer & Support: Join our team in advocating for the spiritual and emotional well-being of inmates.

    What We’re Looking For

    • A heart for service and a non-judgmental attitude toward those in the justice system.
    • Strong communication skills (English and Swahili preferred).
    • Reliability and the ability to commit [Insert Hours, e.g., 5 hours per week].
    • Basic computer skills (email, Word/Google Docs).

    About Our Ministry Good News Jail and Prison Ministry Tanzania is dedicated to bringing hope, spiritual healing, and practical rehabilitation to those within the correctional system. We believe in the power of transformation and strive to support inmates through chaplaincy, counseling, and reintegration programs that prepare them for a purposeful life after release.

    What You Will Do As a volunteer, you will be a vital part of our outreach team. Depending on your skills, your role may include:

    • Prison Visitation: Joining our chaplains to provide spiritual support and encouragement.
    • Community Outreach: Helping us build relationships with local partners and the families of those incarcerated.
    • Administrative Support: Assisting with our new online presence and communication with global supporters.
    • Program Coordination: Helping organize materials for our educational and faith-based sessions.

    Who We Are Looking For

    • A compassionate person with a non-judgmental heart for those in the justice system.
    • Someone fluent in Swahili (for local ministry) and comfortable with English (for reporting).
    • A reliable team player who can commit to a few hours a week to make a difference in Dar es Salaam and beyond.
