Title: Senior Residential Aide
Reports to: Program Director
Location: SRO
Primary Function:
To supervise residents in a SRO in Far Rockaway, Queens. Supervise all Residential Aides. Ensures a secure, well-functioning environment through enforcement of house rules and supervision of public areas.
Location: Far Rockaway, NY
Compensation: $45,000-$50,000 annually based on education, skillset, and experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Makes rounds of the facility and conducts unit inspections.
- Responds to issues raised by clients and intervenes as necessary.
- Welcomes new clients that arrive during assigned shift and conducts preliminary intake and orientation.
- Reports all building issues to Program Director and Building Manager in a timely manner.
- Maintains daily log, census, school attendance, visitor and resident sign-in logs.
- Conducts pre and post-unit inventories.
- Responds to emergencies and contacts Program Director for all emergencies.
- Prepares the fire drill schedule and maintains extermination log.
- Maintains the emergency contact file, and submits all required reports.
- Arrange Residential Aide schedules for 24 hour coverage
- Supervises and evaluates Residential Aides.
- Collects and approves Residential Aides weekly timesheets, vacation & personal days.
- Holds quarterly Residential Aide meetings.
- Provides professional development opportunities for RA’s.
- In the absence of an RA recruits alternate staff to cover shifts.
- Participates in staff meetings, and supervision with Program Director.
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by the Program Director
Qualifications:
- New York State Security Guard License preferred, 8hr & 16hr certificate required.
- Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent or two to three years experience in social services or in a residential setting.
- Strong verbal communication and decision-making skills are required, as is the ability to work well with and be supportive of clients.
- The Senior Residential Aide must be able to consistently and fairly enforce house rules.
- Spanish fluency is preferred.
