    Description

The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine

1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), New York, NY 10025

Position Description: Database & Reporting Coordinator

    Development Department | Part-Time, 15 hours/week (Wednesday–Friday)

    Reports to: Executive Director, Development

    Position Summary

The Database & Reporting Coordinator maintains the Development team's donor database and builds the reports and dashboards the team relies on. This is an operational and technical role focused on data accuracy, database hygiene, and report production. This role does not include donor cultivation, stewardship strategy, or donor-facing relationship management, and does not include gift acknowledgment letter production — those responsibilities sit with the Gift Processing & Acknowledgment Coordinator and the Individual Giving team.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Maintain Raiser's Edge / NXT: relationship notes, donor information, segmentation and prospect-tracking fields
    • Ensure data hygiene and accuracy across donor records
    • Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards in Power BI to specifications provided by the Development team
    • Produce Excel and PowerPoint materials as directed
    • Support direct mail data pulls and related list production
    • Receive handoff from the Gift Processing & Acknowledgment Coordinator each Wednesday (shared overlap day)

    Qualifications

    • College degree
    • Strong Excel and Power BI skills — comfortable building reports and dashboards from raw data, not just formatting existing ones
    • Extensive knowledge of Raiser's Edge
    • Minimum two years of experience in development database management or data/reporting
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

    Schedule

15 hours/week, Wednesday–Friday (5 hours/day), on-site or hybrid per Development team norms. Wednesday overlaps with the Gift Processing & Acknowledgment Coordinator for handoff. Occasional weekend hours for donor events, compensated as additional hours or comp time per Cathedral policy.

    Compensation

    $38–$42/hour ($29,640–$32,760 annualized at 15 hrs./week), commensurate with experience.

Equal employment opportunity and having a diverse staff are foundational principles at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine.
