    Description

    We’re seeking a creative and collaborative social media expert to raise awareness of and foster engagement with programs, classes, and events for The Crucible.

    As Social Media Contractor, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing social programming for this highly visual organization offering 18 different creative disciplines, from woodworking to welding, bike repair to blacksmithing, glass blowing, enameling, and a dozen other arts. You’ll create content, audience engagement, and ultimately campaigns that energize and grow our audience to increase class participation, widen community impact, and drive donations.

    The ideal candidate is curious, engaged, strategic, and optimistic. Ideally, you have a strong interest in visual arts and furthering arts education and an affinity for off-screen, hands-on creativity. Nonprofit experience is a plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Shoots, edits, and publishes content across social media platforms, including Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, and other channels as they emerge.
    • Partners with key stakeholders in design, strategy, development, and events to create social-forward programming.
    • Creates social content and copy, manages internal approvals, and leads cross-channel brand engagement strategies.
    • Analyzes managed social campaign results, applying learnings in real time to strengthen performance.
    • Personally shoots, produces, and edits video and photo content for social media channels. Experience in shooting and editing content is essential.
    • Leads creative brainstorming sessions and collaborates with internal stakeholders and support teams.
    • Moves quickly and efficiently to spot and ideate around real-time social opportunities.
    • Plays a pivotal role in identifying trends, opportunities, and social conversations, leveraging insights to execute timely strategies.
    • Manages an editorial calendar that aligns with The Crucible activities, events, announcements, and campaigns.
    • Monitors channels and cultural conversations and uncovers opportunities to engage as a brand.
    • Analyzes the performance of social channels, reports on results, and uncovers insights on optimization opportunities.
    • Builds strong cross-functional relationships across the organization.
    • Becomes an expert on telling the stories of our class participants, faculty, and volunteers to advance and promote The Crucible community.
