    $57,000–$62,000 | Full-time | Exempt

Join Friends of the Arava Institute as a Donor Relations & Events Manager creating meaningful experiences for the supporters of a mission-driven, international nonprofit.

Help bring environmental cooperation to life through events that build community and deepen engagement.

At Friends of the Arava Institute (FAI), donor-facing events connect supporters with a simple but powerful idea: Nature knows no borders. We support the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, where students and researchers from Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and around the world come together to learn, collaborate, and develop solutions to shared environmental challenges. Your work will create thoughtful, well-executed experiences that strengthen relationships and build support for a more sustainable and peaceful future.

    The Opportunity

We seek a Donor Relations & Events Manager who is energized by the intersection of event planning, donor engagement, and cross-border environmental cooperation. Reporting to the Director of Development, you’ll plan and execute fundraising, donor-facing, and community events while managing logistics, budgets, vendors, volunteers, and participant experience. You’ll work closely with colleagues and partners in the United States and Israel to deliver events that advance FAI’s engagement and development goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage a calendar of fundraising, donor-facing, and community events
    • Coordinate venues, vendors, catering, audiovisual needs, rentals, registration, and guest communications
    • Support event hosts, volunteer committees, and event chairs with clear expectations, tools, and ongoing coordination
    • Manage event budgets; track revenue and expenses; prepare post-event reports, ROI analysis, and recommendations
    • Maintain accurate event and participant records in donor management systems
    • Collaborate with development, communications, finance, leadership, and Israel-based colleagues to coordinate programming, promotion, and reporting
    • Support online peer-to-peer fundraising tools and event-related participant needs

    Schedule & Travel

Evening and weekend work is required as needed to support events. The role includes domestic travel and travel to Israel for an annual event. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to candidates who can work from FAI’s Newton Centre office three days per week.

    What You Bring

    • 3+ years of experience in event planning, project management, or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills when working with donors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners
    • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
    • Experience with fundraising events, online fundraising tools, or donor databases such as DonorPerfect is preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
    • Cultural competence and the ability to collaborate across diverse communities and international teams
    • U.S. work authorization and willingness to travel domestically and internationally

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

    • Enjoy turning complex event plans into organized, welcoming experiences
    • Are highly attentive to detail while remaining adaptable when circumstances change
    • Communicate clearly and build productive relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, and vendors
    • Are motivated by using events to deepen engagement with mission-driven work
