    About the Role:

    The Assistant Manager– Finance will support the organisation's overall finance function, with responsibility across financial planning, budgeting, MIS, reporting, governance, compliance and audit. The role will work closely with the Senior Manager – Finance and internal stakeholders across programmes and support functions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Financial Management & Reporting-
    • Understand organisational financial requirements and work with programme and support teams to prepare and manage budgets across cost centres.
    • Ensure budgets are aligned with organisational strategy, plans and programme requirements.
    • Support fund planning and management, including timely preparation and submission of donor reports.
    • Track financial performance against budgets and analyse Actual vs. Planned expenditure.
    • Manage cash-flow planning and ensure effective utilisation of funds.
    • Liaise with banks and oversee banking and account-related activities.
    • Monitor costs and identify opportunities for improved financial efficiency.
    • Prepare financial reports and MIS for senior management, leadership and trustees.
    • Oversee vendors and ensure timely procurement across organisational functions.
    • Support grant-related financial management and reporting requirements.
    1. Governance, Compliance & Audit-
    • Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, legal advisors and other external professionals to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Liaise with the Company Secretary to ensure corporate documentation, compliance records, legal documents and MOUs are maintained appropriately.
    • Ensure organisational policies and financial processes are implemented effectively.
    • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation for compliance, due diligence, contracts and grants.
    • Ensure appropriate financial controls and processes are followed across functions.

    Experience & Qualifications:

    • 7+ years of relevant experience in finance management within a reputed corporate or nonprofit organisation.
    • Prior experience in the nonprofit/social sector or service industry is preferred.
    • Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or a related field.
    • Candidates with CA (Inter), CMA/ICWA, CS or MBA in Finance will be preferred.
    • Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, MIS reporting, financial analysis and cash-flow management.
    • Strong working knowledge of accounting software/ERP systems, such as Tally, SUN Systems or equivalent platforms.
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, dashboards, data analysis and financial reporting.
    • Experience working with banks, vendors/suppliers, tax consultants and external auditors.
    • Prior experience in grant management, compliance, auditing, due diligence and contract/MOU processes.
    • Strong understanding of financial controls, statutory requirements and regulatory compliance.
    • Experience managing finance operations independently in a growing or multi-functional organisation.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally and at short notice, as required.
