The Assistant/Associate Director of Mediation Services is primarily responsible for leading the development, coordination, and delivery of mediation services and training and ensure the organization maintains good standing with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR). This leadership role supports and advances the strategic vision, sustainability, and impact of the Mediation Center’s mediation services and partnerships.
This position provides oversight across mediation services, court-connected programming, volunteer engagement, community initiatives, workplace mediation, and administrative infrastructure. Working closely with the Director of Mediation and Family Law and Executive Director, this role contributes to high-level decision-making, cross-departmental coordination, and the long-term success of programs serving families, courts, and underserved communities.
Supervisory Responsibility: This role directly supervises three full-time staff members. Responsibilities include setting performance expectations, providing ongoing coaching and support, conducting evaluations, and ensuring alignment of staff work with program goals and organizational priorities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development, coordination, and delivery of mediation trainings, including General Civil, Domestic Relations, Specialized Domestic Violence (SDV), and Probate curricula
- Maintain the organization’s good standing with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR), ensuring compliance with all certification, training, and renewal requirements
- Oversee volunteer mediator program, recruit new volunteers, and ensure fidelity of mediation services
Strategic Leadership
- Support development and execution of long-range strategic plans for mediation and conflict resolution programs
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new initiatives, partnerships, and service models
- Monitor trends in ADR, court-connected services, and community mediation to inform program evolution
Program Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day operations of core program areas, including:
- Court-Connected Mediation Services (Civil, Domestic, Juvenile, Probate)
- Community Engagement and Partnerships
- Ensure alignment of program delivery with organizational mission and strategic priorities.
- Promote collaboration across departments and stakeholders
Staff and Volunteer Leadership
- Supervise and support managers, coordinators, and program staff
- Assist in mentoring contract facilitators, trainers, and volunteers
- Establish clear expectations, accountability structures, and professional development opportunities
Data, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Support data collection, analysis, and outcome evaluation across programs
- Utilize metrics to inform program improvements and strategic decisions
- Assist in preparing reports for leadership, funders, and governing bodies
External Relations and Representation
- Represent the organization in community meetings, partnerships, and professional settings
- Support presentations for board meetings, funders, and public stakeholders
- Help maintain relationships with courts, ADR boards, and community partners
Mediation Services and Compliance
- Support compliance with Georgia ADR Rules and ethical standards
- Assist in coordination of mediation trainings and credentialing requirements
- Contribute to maintaining program approvals and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mediation or conflict management
- Demonstrated experience in program coordination or leadership support preferred
Certifications
- Registered with Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR) in General Civil Mediation (required)
- In good standing with the GODR or eligible to meet all requirements for maintaining good standing
- Eligible to register with GODR in the following areas:
- Domestic Relations Mediation
- Specialized Domestic Violence (SDV) Mediation
- Probate Mediation

Compensation
Salary: $60,000-$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and demonstrated leadership capacity.
