    Executive Director — Summerbridge Hong Kong (SBHK) -Based in Hong Kong

    About SBHK

    Founded 32 years ago, SBHK is a Hong Kong non-profit organisation dedicated to expanding educational opportunity and unlocking potential for underprivileged students through a student-teaching-student English immersion summer programmes that delivers high-quality academic support, leadership and life-skills development, and access to transformative educational experiences that help students thrive in school and beyond.

    Role overview

    We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, and people‑focused Executive Director to lead SBHK’s strategic growth, programme excellence, fundraising, and operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will deliver SBHK’s vision, ensure financial sustainability, strengthen partnerships, engage with stakeholders and lead a committed team to maximise impact for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Candidate must be willing to relocate to Hong Kong.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Provide inspiring and effective leadership that promotes SBHK’s mission and vision
    • Oversee the planning and implementation of SBHK’s programmes ensuring monitoring, evaluation processes are in place to measure outcomes and programme effectiveness
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations including financial, human resources management and compliance
    • Oversee financial planning and management, including annual budgeting, cashflow management and ensure sound financial controls and compliance are in place
    • Recruit, develop, motivate, and mentor staff and volunteers to strategically grow SBHK’s impact, programmes, fundraising, and foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, excellence and continuous improvement
    • Establish goals, objectives, and operational plans in collaboration with the Board of Directors and internal team
    • Work closely with the Board to devise and implement fundraising strategies to secure sustainable income including grants, corporate support and fundraising events
    • Initiate, cultivate, and extend relationships with SBHK’s portfolio of individual, foundation, and corporate supporters
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, schools, community partners, and other stakeholders
    • Oversee communications, marketing and digital presence to raise profile and support fundraising and recruitment
    • Ensure timely and effective communications with the Board to support effective governance and decision-making

    Candidates should possess the following:

    • Significant senior leadership experience (typically 5+ years), ideally within the non-profit, education or social sector
    • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as fundraising, public relations, financial management, etc.
    • Strong operational and people management skills with experience translating strategy into measurable outcomes.
    • Proven success in fundraising, donor cultivation and partnership development with corporates, foundations, schools and government
    • Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Fluency in English essential; Cantonese and/or Mandarin is desirable
